As someone who's been playing computer strategy and wargames for as long as there have been any (and board wargames since the mid-70s), I want to say just how much of a joy I find this game.

When I first booted it up I was disappointed: very simple game mechanics, limited units, the strange secret ally thing, and the generic Si-Fi setting. Then I played a few turns on New Paradise WW, and started to wonder why I wasn't winning easily. Then I started a new game on the same map and started to see the enormous subtlety of the game play: maneuver, combined arms, strategic fronts, resources, timing of allies entry, supply lines (for reinforcements) all are interrelated and must be skillfully balanced to achieve victory.

Plus the AI seems very tough so far. I think this is a good example of how a game can be parsed down to a level that a good AI can be written for it, but still make the game fun to play.

One suggestion going forward: It would be great to have an OPTION to let the computer AI take longer (yes, longer) to calculate turns if that means the algorithms can calculate better decisions. I play casually so I'm not a relaible multiplayer gamer, so I'd like the AI to be as hard as possible.

Congratulations to the developers and publishers on a great game, and I hope it gets the attention it deserves, at least within the computer wargming community.
