I've been having fun with MA, but playing through a game quickly is hard, even when I've got lots of time and I'm by the PC. Problem is getting notification. I use webmail, and thus I have to go to the site, login, refresh the page, and repeat this each time I want to check for a new turn.

The game is too slow in windowed mode and not that practical to keep in the background (and even then you're refreshing all the time).

Have you considered writing a small piece of software which sits in the system tray, and informs you when your opponent has made a move? It would be dead useful for anyone who is by the PC for a fair period, like keeping your IM client open incase someone hops online.

Depending on the webmail you use, messenging services can be set up to inform you when you get email. For example, Yahoo Messenger can be used to tell you if you get mail in your yahoo account. I would never actually use the messenger, but the notification part is reason enough to get it.

That's an idea for them to throw into MAN, I guess.
