How about inserting one for side selection in next patch to stop quarrels when players have to decide who`ll play League?

what for?
you can decline challenge if you wish
and btw playing Phantom League isnt a bit advantage at all especially on large maps.
look at this replay
- i was playing FNU
- i planned invasion to a rich country (which proved to be enemy main)
- invasion failed miserably due to enemy had first turn and i made several tactical mistakes
- after that enemy captured both my allies on that continent
- but i was able to gain overall superiority and invade that continent again - and finally i won

If it can be done easily, a "random side" option couldnґt hurt.

In fact, I would even like a "random planet" option. 8)

How about random small planet, or random medium planet? I know I'm not ready to slug it out on the big ones yet :). Theres plenty to master in the small ones yet...

The big ones are not more difficult. In some respects, they are actually more forgiving.

Small planet = faster game = you can afford fewer mistakes.

Anyways, random all/random large/random medium/random small would all be great options. :)

guess what? yes it's another replay for those who yells so much about Red side having advantage of first turn.
This time i was playing Reds against Archangel on Noble Rust
in first turn i disclosed two SA's on "haselnut continent" and attacked two neighboring poor countries. And then i see...dammit.Enemy also had two SA's there but they were one medium and one rich country. So he basically got significant superiority in this region plus guerillas joined his side..At that point i really felt like i am losing this but i managed to create a stalemate (sacrificing lost of units) and hold the line until my troops on other two continents gained superiority. So what advantages i got from my having first turn? actually i got a huge DISadvantage from that cuz i actually "presented" enemy two new allies, and had to retreat.

Red advantage is statistic; of course it doesnґt play out each and every game. And I donґt complain at all. But in doubt I would always choose Red. :P Just like if in some Chess tournament you get the chance to always play White, you should certainly do so, and not say: "Black is just as good a colour. I will play Black, to prove my obstinacy!"

actually there are much more background story in MA than in chess
i would play Phantom League even if they not had such advantage.(or had disadvantages instead)

In that case, I would be torn. I give to you that from the story viewpoint the PL is more appealing, because they are not such despicable hypocrites, but on the other hand, look at their units! They come fresh from the scrapyard, while the shiny, new toys of the FN come straight from the factory. A truly difficult decision. 8)
